Who can see a share link

By default, anyone holding the link can open the project — no sign-in, no account, no invitation. The link is unlisted, which is not the same as private: it is not listed anywhere and it will not be guessed, but it will work for whoever it is forwarded to.

That is usually what you want. It is why a link can be dropped into an email and read on a phone in a meeting. But it means a forwarded link is a granted view, and it is worth knowing before you send anything you would not want passed on.

The three controls

Ask the Bridger team to set any of these on a project.

Restricted access. Hides the project's open link entirely. Tracked links — the per-recipient ones — become the only way in. This is the control that changes the shape of the thing: with it off, a project has a public address; with it on, it does not.

Email verification. Available once access is restricted. Each tracked link is bound to a recipient's email address, and opening it sends that address a one-time code. Without this, a tracked link is still link-as-key: unlisted, attributed, and openable by anyone it reaches.

A password. Set on the project itself. Everyone opening it types the same password, whichever link they came through.

The three stack. Restricted access without email verification gives you attribution but not a gate — you learn who opened what, and you are still trusting the recipients not to forward.

Links that stop working

Two kinds of expiry exist, and they are separate.

The project's own link can carry an expiry date. Past it, the address stops resolving for everyone.
A tracked link can carry its own expiry, and can be switched off individually without touching the others.

Switching a single tracked link off is the right move when one recipient's copy has gone somewhere it should not have. It leaves everyone else's links alone.

What the team can see

An open link records that a view happened and how long it lasted. A tracked link additionally attributes it to the recipient it was made for. That is the whole difference, and it is the reason to send tracked links rather than forwarding one address to a group.
